Roseanne Barr believes Michelle Obama got her fired
After blaming Ambien, herself and anti-Semitism for her 2018 firing after a racist tweet about former Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett, liking her to the Muslim Brotherhood and Planet of the Apes, Roseanne Barr is now pointing the finger at former first lady Michelle Obama.
"Obama said ‘This tweet is unforgivable.’ That’s what I was told and I tend to believe it because the woman who fired me is now working with the Obamas at Netflix,” Barr told British newspaper The Times of London.
Channing Dungey, former ABC programming chief, left ABC in December 2018 and moved to Netflix, half a year after where the Obamas signed a "multi-year agreement to produce films and series" with the streaming network.
Barr added that her tweet — which she concedes was a “very stupid thing” — was intended to be an attack on the Obama administration’s ties to Iran, which she sees as anti-Semitic. “I should have written it backwards,” she said. “It came out dyslexic. It should have been, ‘Valerie Jarrett’s ties to the Muslim Brotherhood have now allowed Iran’s government to remain, as in the movie Planet of the Apes.”
